Our activities

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, we have been providing assistance to refugees and victims of the war conflict in Ukraine. In the first phase, we focused on assistance at the state border with Ukraine, where we provided refreshments, blankets and provided information activities for emigrants in the field of transport, housing and assistance options in Slovakia. We were involved in helping in refugee centers, especially in cooperation with Spišská Catholic Charity in the center in Dolní Smokovec. We provided assistance to emigrants in processing the status of emigrants, processing benefits in material need, interpretation. Materially, we ensured the furnishing of apartments, moving, transportation of people and materials when obtaining housing after leaving the refugee centers or directly from the border. We continue to help emigrants in the form of social counseling and in applying legal claims - help in finding housing, employment, help in placing children in school facilities. We provide or mediate all the necessary services - transport and escort of people to medical facilities and offices, to visit relatives in Slovakia and Ukraine, we provide interpretation, moving, transport of personal belongings from relatives from Ukraine, transport of people and humanitarian aid, which we obtain thanks to many corporate donors and individuals. In addition to helping those leaving Slovakia, we provide or mediate help to people affected by the war conflict in Ukraine, especially by providing humanitarian aid - food, hygiene items, generators, diesel and gasoline for generators, flashlights, candles, powebanks. In providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine, we cooperate mainly with Spišská Catholic Charity, with whom we also cooperate on the establishment and operation of a center for help to displaced people in Poprad. We provide activities through our employees, contractors and volunteers. We thank all donors, well-wishers and volunteers for all the donations and support provided.

Our organization started in September 2022 with the implementation of the project Step by step to employment, ITMS2014+: 312081BVS3. As part of the project, workers actively search for people who are inactive on the labor market and help them step by step to place themselves on the labor market. These are mainly activities focused on the development of working skills, educational activities, educational activities focused on the meaning of employment, obligations and rights resulting from labor-legal relations. In addition, activities such as assistance in registering job applicants, assistance in finding a job or part-time job, mentoring in obtaining employment and assistance in maintaining employment are carried out. The project is implemented in the period from September 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023. The project is implemented thanks to support from the European Social Fund and the European Regional Development Fund within the Operational Program Human Resources. More information at www.ludskezdroje.gov.sk a www.employment.gov.sk. The amount of support is EUR 149,709.00.

In the period from August 1, 2021 to November 30, 2023, we are implementing the Housing Mediation and Support Services project as a tool for social inclusion. The goal of the project is to support social inclusion and increase the standard of living of the target group by providing innovative services: provision of a rent allowance, help with occupation, solving the living situation, debt relief, increasing social skills, including financial literacy and work skills through active involvement. The target group is represented by marginalized individuals/families from segregated settlements in the district of Poprad and Kežmarok, for whom remaining in a segregated location represents an obstacle to social inclusion. The expected outcome is the acquisition and maintenance of housing for 7 individuals/families and the acquisition of skills and habits to ensure the ability to pay housing and other living expenses. This project is implemented thanks to support from the European Social Fund and the European Regional Development Fund, within the Operational Program Human Resources. Total amount of support: 187810.00 euros.

Help for large and single-parent families

As part of our projects, we help families with several children in need and single-parent families. Our goal is to improve the quality of life in families where only one parent is present when raising children. Through our projects, we provide such parents with assistance that will help them overcome this difficult period in their lives. We mainly focus on families with one or more disabled children and single-parent families.

Assistance to immigrants and victims of war conflict

We have been working for a long time with people who have left their homes and are looking for a new place to live. We are involved in helping the community of Iraqi Christians who came to Slovakia due to persecution for their faith. Over the past 4 years, we have held more than 40 meetings and discussions in all parts of Slovakia with the aim of sensitizing people to this issue. After the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, using our experience, we started helping those who left Ukraine and internally displaced persons in Ukraine.

Humanitarian aid

We help people in need by distributing clothes, food and connecting the needy with willing donors. We respond to extraordinary events such as the loss of housing after a fire or flood, and after the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, we provide humanitarian aid to emigrants and people in Ukraine. We are building a network of individuals and organizations who are willing to help and those who need help. Currently, we operate mainly in the Low Tatras region and on Spiš.

Human rights and education

We work with the marginalized community in the districts of Poprad and Kežmarok. We implement activities to support education, housing and employment.
